It was interesting to note in this example that the brick above the garage opening was being supported by the wooden arch and the brick arch. In my experience this should be supported by a steal beam of proper gauge. The home owner was informed of the issue. What are you supposed to do. Rebuild the whole wall to put in a steal beam? The house is past its warranty so there is nothing that the home owner can do.
The lack of a steal beam explains why the keystones have fallen out twice in the last ten years. We simply reinstalled them using a type "S" mortar and dyes to match existing colour.
